Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the significant influence of work motivation (X1), work discipline (X2), competence (X3), and job satisfaction (X4) on work performance (Y) among employees of PDAM Tirta Satria, Banyumas District. 


Method: This study employs a quantitative research design with proportionate stratified random sampling technique, involving a sample of 150 respondents. Data analysis is conducted using multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS version 27.The results of the data analysis yield the regression equation Y = -9.609 + 0.250X1 + 0.316X2 + 0.449X3 + 0.291X4 + e, with an R square value of 0.519 indicating that 51.9% of the variance in work performance is explained by work motivation, work discipline, competence, and job satisfaction, while the remaining 48.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study such as enthusiasm, compensation, work environment, and others. 


Result: The obtained F-test result (39.055) > (2.43) and significance value (0.000) < 0.05 indicate the adequacy of the regression model in this study. Based on the t-test results, X1 t-value (3.368) > t-table (1.65543), X2 t-value (4.503) > t-table (1.65543), X3 t-value (7.505) > t-table (1.65543), and X4 t-value (4.336) > t-table (1.65543), with significance values < 0.05, show that work motivation, work discipline, competence, and job satisfaction significantly and positively influence work performance. The implication of this research is to improve employee work performance by implementing work motivation, work discipline, competence and job satisfaction well. The Tirta Satria Regional Drinking Water Company, Banyumas Regency, is expected to provide support, regulations, skills and satisfaction so that PDAM Banyumas Regency employees can improve their work performance. Future researchers can add other independent variables such as work morale, work environment, compensation. Future researchers are advised to add more literature as references so they can formulate hypotheses more precisely.
