Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of production factors on fattening goats in Tulang Bawang Barat Regency.


Methodology/approach: The study was conducted in Tulang Bawang Barat District, Gunung Terang District by giving questionnaires to 37 goat breeders by dividing them into two groups, namely breeders with <10 livestock and those with >10 goats. Data processing method using Eviews with multiple linear regression model to analyze the effect of feeder, cage, forage feed, concentrate feed, labor and vitamins on goat fattening production.


Results/findings: The results showed that the variables of feeder, cage, concentrate feed, and labor had a significant effect on the production of goat fattening business in Tulang Bawang Barat Regency, while forage and vitamin variables had no significant effect on the production of goat fattening business in Tulang Bawang Barat Regency.


Limitations: Limitations in this study have not differentiated the type of goat that is cultivated. The advice given is that it is necessary to provide more intensive counseling about better so that the use of production factors is more optimal and obtains maximum results.
