Abstract

purpose: This research analyzes the influence of workload and organizational commitment on cyberloafing action. Rapid advances in technology have caused significant changes in work patterns. The negative impact of internet technology is that there are indications of internet use that is not related to work interests (cyberloafing). High workload and organizational commitment are thought to influence cyberloafing.


method: The method used in this research is quantitative.


result: Test results from 123 samples of employees of tourism enterproses in the Lampung region using simple linear regression analysis showed that, the two hypotheses tested, only one supported the hypothesis, the workload had a negative and significant effect on cyberloafing action.


limitation: Meanwhile, organizational commitment has a negative and insignificant effect. This research suggests that organizations need clear regulations and monitoring of internet use. Training and development are also needed to build a good culture on employees of tourism enterprises in Lampung.
