Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this service is to optimize vacant stalls in Talang Padang Market by providing local MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) with rent-free facilities for four months. Additionally, the service aims to mediate cooperation agreements between MSMEs and market managers, and to promote both the market and MSMEs through online and offline media. The service also intends to educate and train MSMEs on digital marketing, legal licensing, stall presentation, financial analysis, and business feasibility.
Methodology/approach: The service was conducted at Talang Padang Market. The methodology included using a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, which involves the community in the planning and implementation processes. Tools and methods used in this service included lectures, discussions, training sessions, and practical exercises. The PRA technique was employed to design and develop programs that can be implemented in village-level development. Both online platforms (such as Instagram) and offline promotional methods were used to support the MSMEs.
Results/findings: The traders were able to effectively promote their products using Instagram accounts. They also created promotional videos for their MSMEs. This activity significantly enhanced their marketing efforts, leading to increased visibility and sales.
Conclusion: This service activity provided substantial benefits for the traders of Talang Padang Market following its revitalization. The primary advantage was seen in the improvement of product marketing, which subsequently boosted their sales. The education and training on digital marketing, legal aspects, stall presentation, and financial analysis proved to be valuable for the MSMEs, helping them to better manage and promote their businesses.
