Abstract
Purpose: MSMEs in Bali face vulnerabilities in business sustainability due to competition and low utilisation of FinTech which causes financial performance (FP) to fluctuate. This study aims to analyze in-depth the utilization of financial technology and the role of MSME financial management behaviour (FMB) on FP.
Methodology/approach: The research was conducted in Bali Province, specifically in Denpasar City, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan Regency (Sarbagita). This study employed a quantitative approach using the PLS-SEM analysis method, where data were analyzed using WarpPLS 7.0 software. Sample selection was conducted using purposive sampling, and 185 MSME entrepreneurs were obtained to fill out questionnaires as research instruments.
Results/findings: Research proved that 1) Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) has a positive and significant effect on FP, as does FinTech. 2) DFL has a positive and significant effect on FMB. 3) DFL has a positive and significant effect on FinTech. 4) FMB does not have a significant effect on FP. 5) DFL indirectly influences FP through Fintech and without the mediation of FMB.
Limitations: The research is limited to four regencies, so the research findings cannot be used to represent MSMEs in Bali Province. The study only focuses on the perspective of FP and can be further explored from the perspectives of marketing, HR, and production.
Contribution: Enhanced understanding and financial awareness, improved financial management practices for MSMEs, enhanced FP to support business sustainability. The research findings can be used to improve the quality of MSMEs by the Bali Provincial Government.
