Tantangan UMKM dalam Ekonomi Global: Pentingnya Adopsi Teknologi

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out how important technology is to be mastered by MSMEs in order to survive in the era of global economic challenges that occur in Indonesia.

Methodology/approach: This research uses qualitative methods with literature studies.

Results/findings: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are challenges that affect the global economy, namely the speed of development of digital technology. So that MSMEs must adjust between business development and digital technology. Digitalization of MSMEs is a transformation in managing business from conventional to digital systems. The purpose of digitizing MSMEs is to improve the efficiency and operational effectiveness of a business. The benefits of digitalization for MSMEs can monitor business cash flow, obtain raw materials online, and obtain an extensive marketing network.

Limitation: The limitation in this study is that MSMEs tend not to be innovative and their technological knowledge is still low, this triggers some MSMEs not to do their business digitally.

Contribution: With this research, it is expected that more MSMEs will transform into the digitalization era, so that it can have many positive impacts on the development of MSME businesses in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and can face global economic challenges that occur in Indonesia.
