Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to describe the implementation of strategic management in increasing Village Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) in Simorejo Village, Kanor, Bojonegoro Regency. BUM Desa “Berkah Alam” Simorejo Village is one of 25 active BUM Desa in Kanor District. From the data recorded by the Community Empowerment Service, not all BUM Desa are running well, only 32% contribute to Village Original Income. This is the author's background for researching BUM Desa Simorejo Village, which is currently classified as low in contribution.


Methodology/approach: The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method and data collection techniques are carried out through observation and interviews. The theory used is Pierre Bourdieu's theory of social capital in terms of the aspect of social norms. In this theory includes values ??such as trust, honesty, and cooperation.


Results/findings: The results of the study show that currently the management of BUM Desa in Simorejo Village is still not optimal. This can be seen from the election of administrators who are still directly appointed, financial management is still manual and the need to increase togetherness and good cooperation from all BUM Desa administrators to overcome the problems faced.


Limitations: This research only looks at the aspect of social norms.


Contribution: This research provides an overview of  strategic management implemented to improve BUM Desa in Simorejo Village that can be a reference and perspectives for other BUM Desa managers.
