Global Economic Challenges for Indonesia: Equitable Development for Sustainable Prosperity

Abstract
Purpose: The primary goal is to analyze the implications of geopolitical tensions, the COVID-19 pandemic, and escalating energy and food prices on Indonesia's economy. The study intends to propose effective policy measures and strategies that promote inclusive growth, reduce inequality, and foster sustainable economic development in Indonesia.
Methodology/approach: This research employs qualitative and empirical research methods, complemented by descriptive analysis techniques. The data collection process involves a comprehensive review of relevant academic literature, reports from international organizations, and government publications.
Results/findings: The research findings reveal that Indonesia's economy is significantly vulnerable to the repercussions of geopolitical tensions, disrupted supply chains, inflationary pressures, and uncertainties in employment rates. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic and escalating energy and food prices pose additional challenges to the country's economic prospects. Equitable development emerges as a critical component for Indonesia's sustainable prosperity, ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are accessible to all segments of society, including marginalized populations. The study's conclusions emphasize the urgency for Indonesia to address the global economic challenges strategically. Policymakers must prioritize inclusive growth and implement sustainable economic policies to navigate the complexities of the global economic landscape.
Limitations: A limitation of this study lies in the reliance on secondary data sources, which may limit the depth of analysis for certain aspects of the research. Additionally, the dynamic and rapidly evolving nature of the global economic landscape may present challenges in accurately capturing real-time data for analysis.
Contribution: This study contributes to the existing body of literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of the specific global economic challenges confronting Indonesia. It highlights the significance of equitable development for the country's sustainable prosperity and offers evidence-based policy recommendations. By offering evidence-based policy recommendations, this research seeks to guide policymakers in formulating strategies that promote inclusive growth, address inequality, and ensure long-term sustainability. The study's insights are relevant not only to Indonesia but also to other developing nations confronting similar economic challenges in an interconnected global context.
