Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of developing a physics module based on discovery learning on vibration, waves, and sound materials for SMP/MTs class VIII. The development model used is 4D (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate) but in this study the development model only reached the disseminate stage, because according to the formulation of the problem it only measured the feasibility of the product. The subjects of this study were three material expert validators and three media expert validators as well as class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Mesuji Makmur in the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 20 people. Data collection techniques using student response sheets are used as data to determine the practicality of the physics module. The results of the study obtained that the validity value of media experts was 0.80 with moderate validity criteria and the validity value obtained from material experts of 0.61 was in the moderate validity range. While the results of the practicality test of student responses obtained 78.125% with practical criteria. Based on these data, it was concluded that the discovery learning-based physics module that was developed was valid and practical to be used as a medium for independent learning for students and as a medium for teacher learning.
