Abstract
According to the World Health Organization's records in 2018 there are one billion people in the world suffering from hypertension, and two-thirds of them are in developing countries. Indonesia has reached 8.4% and based on taking antihypertensive drugs it has reached 8.8%. The prevalence of hypertension in West Sumatra based on blood pressure measurement results is 34.1%, an increase compared to 2013 which reached 26.2%, and in 2007 it reached 24.7%. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between spirituality and stress in patients with hypertension during the COVID 19 pandemic in the Padang Laweh Health Center, Sijunjung Regency in 2021. The research design used an analytical descriptive method with a cross sectional study approach. This research was conducted from April to August in the Padang Laweh Public Health Center, Sijunjung Regency in 2021, the number of research samples was 60 people, with accidental sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire and the data were univariate and bivariate. In this study, 58.3% of respondents had good spirituality and 55% of respondents were not stressed. The results of the statistical test obtained a p value of 0.000, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between spirituality and stress in patients with hypertension during the Covid 19 pandemic in the Padang Laweh Public Health Center, Sijunjung Regency in 2021. It is concluded that there is a relationship between spirituality and stress in hypertension sufferers. The Covid 19 Pandemic Period in the Padang Laweh Health Center, Sijunjung Regency in 2021. It is recommended for families to be able to increase the spirit of hypertension sufferers to believe and believe in God and their religion so that they can increase worship at home in particular.
